David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
