Edwards and O'Neil Included in Wolves Managerial Contenders

Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early names under consideration to succeed the former manager as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on the weekend following the squad's 10-match without a victory start to the top-flight season.

Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - each of whom have historic links to the club - are part of the options to be considered by the Wolves leadership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would create a potential hurdle to his appointment at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton Town head coach - who played more than 100 of appearances for Wolves during his playing career - is said to be a strong contender for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys support from the Wolves directors as they begin the search of appointing a new head coach.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a surprise contender, even though he would be a shock choice considering he was released by the club in December last year.

The ex- West Ham midfielder is out of work meaning the club would not be required to pay any compensation.
