On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned phone records and data obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a vacation in Portugal - is one of the most publicized investigations and continues to be open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One recorded message, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm fat and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What then? Is that not important for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I only wish to know," the recording stated.

The jury was informed that via emails, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "memories" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who compiled the data, told the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with family friends of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On that date, Gerry McCann picked up a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will continue and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court learned the co-defendant established a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in the county in December 2024.

Communication data demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the period before the visit to the village, that area, in last December.

The court learned communications between the two individuals, in that autumn, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from utensils at a eating establishment.

"We have to make a stand," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their house, the defendant dispatched a communication which said: "We find ourselves sitting outside the McCanns' home with our vehicle dark similar to detectives. I wanted to do this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
